When a wheel excavator is in operation, slow boom movement is a common fault that directly affects construction efficiency. As a wheel excavator manufacturer, we have summarized three main causes to help you quickly troubleshoot the issue:
一、Oil Circuit Leakage Causes Power Loss in Wheel Excavators
When a wheel excavator shows slow boom movement, start by inspecting the exterior. If obvious oil leakage is found in the main oil circuit, it is likely caused by oil circuit leakage. Long-term high-intensity operation of the wheel excavator may loosen oil pipe interfaces or age seals, leading to hydraulic oil leakage and insufficient boom hydraulic power. Timely positioning and repairing the leak point is key to solving such problems.
二、Excessive Oil Temperature Triggers Hydraulic Attenuation in Wheel Excavators
If the wheel excavator has no oil leakage, check the hydraulic oil temperature. When the temperature exceeds 80°C, the viscosity of the hydraulic oil decreases, causing system pressure to attenuate, which results in weak boom lifting. Continuous heavy-load operation of the wheel excavator or poor heat dissipation due to radiator fouling can lead to excessive oil temperature. It is recommended to stop the machine for cooling, clean the radiator, and avoid long-term high-temperature operation to prevent equipment damage.
三、Hydraulic Cylinder Failures Cause Movement Blockage in Wheel Excavators
If the above two items are normal, inspect the hydraulic cylinder. When the boom of a wheel excavator shows obvious automatic descent after the control valve returns to the neutral position, it is mostly due to worn cylinder seals, oil pipe leakage, internal leakage of the control valve, or loose safety valve closure. These faults cause internal pressure relief in the cylinder, naturally slowing down boom movement. Regular maintenance of the cylinder sealing system can effectively prevent such issues.
Slow boom movement in wheel excavators is mostly related to the condition of the hydraulic system. Checking the oil circuit, oil temperature, and cylinder step by step can quickly locate the fault. As a wheel excavator manufacturer, we advise users to regularly maintain the hydraulic system to avoid construction delays caused by minor faults.
